Food Safety


To keep food safe, be sure to refrigerate leftovers within two hours of cooking them


If you do not have the time to do this, it is a good idea to freeze the leftovers.

 You can store food in the refrigerator for several days with no problem as long as you are storing it properly. Take care not to contaminate your other foods by putting cooked meat on top of raw fruit and vegetables as they spoil more quickly. Make sure that your refrigerator is set at or below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The freezer should be set at or below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. 

Always make sure that frozen foods are tightly sealed so they cannot leak Food safety is the practice of ensuring that food products are safe to eat, and that they do not cause harm to consumers. Food safety means making sure your food is prepared in a way that prevents illness or degradation. To protect yourself from food-borne illness, take the following steps: Wash your hands thoroughly before preparing any type of meal.
